We have six en-suite, luxury Wigwam cabins which sit around a wildlife pond - Three with private wood fired hot tubs. You’ll quickly unwind, watching dragonflies and butterflies whilst listening to the variety of wildlife that live and pass by our site all from your own private outdoor decked dining area. Or just sit back and watch the sunset, relaxing around your firepit enjoying a BBQ with your favourite people.

Glamping holidays are perfect for nature lovers looking for a little luxury whilst enjoying the calm of the great outdoors. The Wigwam cabins are fully furnished with lots of luxurious detail - double glazing, insulation, heating and en-suite toilet and washing facilities so you can be sure of a warm and delightful night’s rest after a busy day.  The glamping site is surrounded by miles of pretty country roads, wildlife trails and footpaths, perfect for a stroll or a cycle through the countryside. And for even more relaxation in nature, you can truly unwind if you book into a Wigwam glamping pod with hot tub. Perfect for unwinding and stargazing, and whiling away a few hours of sheer bliss.

The nearby village of Newtown Linford

Take a short walk through the National Forest from Wigwam Holidays Charnwood Forest and you’ll find yourself in the picturesque village of Newtown Linford and entrance to  the historic Bradgate Park. Here you’ll find dog friendly pubs, shops and tearooms - the perfect place to enjoy a cream tea before returning to your luxurious cabin.

Bradgate Park

The most popular attraction in Leicestershire. This 800-year old deer park is the most beautiful place to visit with stunning landscape views from ''Old John'' and a fascinating history. Just a short walk from our glamping site it is the perfect place to while away a few peaceful hours. The park is perfect for nature lovers and has something for everyone - rugged and energetic walks and trails through the hills or easy-going pathways for bikes, buggies and wheelchairs. You’ll also find two tearooms and a  visitor centre opened by Sir David Attenborough in 2016.  The picturesque River Lin runs through the park so don't forget to bring the childrens fishing nets!  As well as a busy events calendar throughout the year such as concerts, outdoor theatre and cinema, you can join in on guided tours through the ruins of Bradgate House - ancestral home of Lady Jane Grey, Queen for just 9 days

Beacon Hill Country Park

Rising to a height of 245m, Beacon Hill is one of the highest points in Leicestershire and boasts spectacular views of Charnwood Forest and the Soar Valley.  Covering 128ha, the Country Park consists of mixed woodland, grassland, open heathland, wetlands and rocky outcrops.  It has a range of interesting features that await any visitor 

National Forest

The National Forest is right in the heart of the country, embracing 200 square miles of the Midlands. It spans across parts of Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Staffordshire and contains the ancient Forest of Charnwood. Our glamping site is situated in the beautiful Charnwood Forest and links to miles of great footpaths which are great for you, your family and dogs to enjoy.

Tropical Birdland

This colourful world is only seven miles from Wigwam Holidays Charnwood Forest and is a favourite tourist attractions for our guests. 6 ½ acres of sanctuary for parrots and other brightly coloured, exotic birds. There are over 250 feathery residents and every inch is devoted to giving a home to these beautiful creatures. Birds are from all over the world - and this is a must-see attraction.

Swithland Woods and Reservoir

Swithland Wood covers an area of 170 acres and is designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest and acknowledged as one of the best remnants of native woodland in Leicestershire. Swithland Wood has something to see throughout the seasons. 

Swithland Reservoir is a 4.8 mile out and back trail located near Bradgate Park, Leicestershire, England that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and bird watching. 

Thornton Reservoir

Thornton Reservoir is a peaceful and picturesque location that offers a network of trails and footpaths around the reservoir and through the neighbouring woodland areas. There are also links with longer trails including the Leicester Round and various other public footpaths. This scenic reservoir also has a popular fly fishery, attracting anglers from all over the midlands. The site is open every day from dawn until dusk apart from Christmas Day. Car parking Car parking is available for visitors to Thornton Reservoir free of charge. There are disabled parking bays located in the car park with good views of the reservoir. This reservoir is stunning during sunrise and sunset.

Great Central Railway

the UK's only double track, main line heritage railway. It’s the only place in the world where full size steam engines can be seen passing each other – just as it was when steam ruled the rails.

Trains run every weekend of the year, bank holidays and selected week days through the summer. In addition, First Class Restaurant Car Services provide five course meals whilst travelling between Loughborough and Leicester. Childhood dreams can come true with a Drive a Locomotive Experience when you can take the regulator on a mighty steam locomotive or notch up on a powerful diesel. We also run many special events, including Steam Galas, Paw Patrol, Bonfire Night, 1940s Wartime Weekend and Santa Specials.

Abbey Park is perfect for those wanting a relaxing walk around a large lake and to hire a small rowing boat or pedalo. There’s so much to see and do - for the whole family.

We have 6 Running Water Deluxe Wigwam Cabins, 3 Cabins have wood fired hot tubs.
We are open 1st April to 30th November. We may open earlier or close later, please call for further information.
We allow 2 dogs max per Wigwam Cabin and charge £10 per dog per night. Dogs must not be left unattended in the Wigwam Cabins at any point. Dog beds are to be brought and dogs are not allowed on the furniture. Large plastic dog baskets are available FOC on request
Yes it's great for children with nature trails, bike tracks and walking trails

Personal & Disposable BBQ's are prohibited from our site - Fires are strictly restricted to our static BBQ firepits that only use firewood. Only wood purchased from our site can be used as unseasoned wood poses a real fire risk and it is against our agreed fire safety policy.

A Firepit package is available at £13 (includes firepit, net of logs,firelighters, kindling and matches)

Additional logs (£10) and kindling (£3) are available on site - Only seasoned wood purchased on site is permitted.

Sorry, it is not permissible to invite friends who are not booked into a cabin onto site during your stay as they are not covered by our insurance policy. Any additional guests must be booked into our system. Please note a charge will be payable for any additional personnel and dogs. Payment can be taken on site if required.
We are a family-friendly site, your key will be in your cabin on arrival. Details of your cabin will be found on the notice board on the side of the small Dutch Barn adjacent to the car park. A 'Touch Stay' welcome app will be attached to your confirmation email once you have paid your deposit. We highly recommend you download this onto your mobile and pass it onto others in your group as it contains useful site, cabin & local information. Please email if you have not received the app and we'll forward it toyou it in an email.

The closest pub is 1 mile away. There are 7 Pub/Restaurants/Tea Rooms within 2 miles. Please refer to your Touch Stay App. The Bradgate Pub, Post Office Tea Rooms and Jades Tea Rooms offer a 10% discount if you show them your key lanyard when ordering.
The nearest supermarket is 2 miles away in Markfield village.
The nearest bus stop is 1 mile away, 8.8 miles to Leicester train station, 12.2 miles from East Midlands Airport.
Currently there is no general WiFi on site, however Wifi will be available in the 2025 Season. There is an excellent 3G/4G signal on most networks.
There are no TV's in the cabins. They were removed due to a dissapointing TV signal as the cabins are located amongst trees.
