On arrival at Wigwam Holidays® Orchard Stables, expect a friendly greeting from the resident horses grazing in the fields. The site is set within a 23 acre equestrian centre on the edge of the peaceful, historical village of Collingham, near Newark. 

Orchard Stables is crisscrossed by footpaths and bridleways leading to nature reserves and bird sanctuaries, so be sure to bring your walking boots. Wildlife highlights include bitterns, brown hares, bearded tits, marsh harriers, avocets, wintering wildfowl, starling murmurations and colourful wildflowers. With direct access to the Sustrans 64 cycle path, the site is an ideal destination for cycling enthusiasts also.

Visit an abundance of cultural attractions nearby, from cathedrals and castles to National Trust houses and gardens. Or if you prefer to stay close, watch the local tennis, bowls, and cricket just across the way.

Newark Castle and Gardens

This 12th century monument has been standing for nearly 900 years and is set in beautiful, Grade II gardens with the River Trent flowing alongside. The English Civil War left Newark Castle in partial ruin which serves as a reminder for the town’s turbulent history.
