Orchard Stables is crisscrossed by footpaths and bridleways leading to nature reserves and bird sanctuaries, so be sure to bring your walking boots. Wildlife highlights include bitterns, brown hares, bearded tits, marsh harriers, avocets, wintering wildfowl, starling murmurations and colourful wildflowers. With direct access to the Sustrans 64 cycle path, the site is an ideal destination for cycling enthusiasts also.

Visit an abundance of cultural attractions nearby, from cathedrals and castles to National Trust houses and gardens. Or if you prefer to stay close, watch the local tennis, bowls, and cricket just across the way.

The nearby village of Collingham

There is just about everything you need in Collingham within walking distance, including a pub, restaurant, fish and chips, Chinese, Co-op, and butchers. If you wish to travel further without your car, there is a bus stop and train station to take you to Newark, Lincoln, and Nottingham.

Newark Castle and Gardens

This 12th century monument has been standing for nearly 900 years and is set in beautiful, Grade II gardens with the River Trent flowing alongside. The English Civil War left Newark Castle in partial ruin which serves as a reminder for the town’s turbulent history. 

Sundown Adventureland

All year-round.
Yes. Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome with prior notice and for an additional charge of £10 per dog per night. Dogs must be kept on a lead so as not to startle the horses. Dogs must not be left in the cabins unattended.
There isn’t a designated play area but lots of super walks and bike tracks.
No stag, hen parties, or adult groups. We do however welcome quiet family and social groups. We ask that all groups respect our neighbours and other guests by abiding with our site policy of keeping noise to a minimum after 10pm.
Only within the provided BBQ/Fire Pits and with firewood purchased from us. Please no coal or charcoal or disposable BBQ’s. Chinese lanterns and fireworks are strictly forbidden.

Yes there is an honesty shop on site and a reception (not always manned) It sells logs, kindling, charcoal and marshmallows. You’ll find games too and some leaflets for places to visit.

All cabins are en-suite.
There are two in the village, just a short walk away. The Royal Oak pub and restaurant which is 0.5miles and Rose Orchard Chinese Restaurant which is 0.4 miles. There is also The Village Fish Bar takeaway, 0.6 miles.
