Wigwam Holidays Sedgewell Barn is a must for nature lovers as it’s equidistant to the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors National Parks so there are plenty of opportunities to get out into the great outdoors and explore. Relax where you are at Sedgewell Barn
There’s nothing quite like relaxing on holiday - and Sedgewell Barn makes everything easy for you to do just that. There’s a play area for the kids and plenty of space for a big game of rounders. And if viewing games and sport, rather than playing, is more your thing then there’s lots of space to lounge in the sun, reading, dozing and enjoying the sight and sounds of your loved ones having fun. And don’t forget to take a leisurely stroll to the local village pub for some twilight libations!
We are a family-friendly site and the addition of our play area is proving to be a great hit with our glamping guests.
Our play area is situated in our car-free grass paddock and is in sight of our deluxe cabins.
The play area includes a toddler and child's swing, a basket swing, a slide and a picnic bench.
There's plenty of open space for the youngsters to run off steam too!
Families with four-legged friends can also use our private dog walks, pawfect for the pooches!
Fountains Abbey
Pick your way through the 900-year-old abbey ruins and marvel at the stunning water gardens from the Georgian era at this incredible World Heritage Site. There are over 800 acres to explore - including a medieval deer park, a stunning walk around the abbey (allow three hours for this), a mill and some Elizabethan architecture.
There are guided tours to take you through the architecture - and the diverse history of this incredible site and we challenge you to find the ancient, stone carved graffiti in the cellarium.
Betty’s Tearoom
Betty’s tearoom has a rich history, which starts in Switzerland, over 100 years ago. One accidental train journey and a mysterious ‘Betty’ later, this tea room is famous throughout York, England and beyond as the place to visit for afternoon tea. Well worth a visit while glamping in Yorkshire - and easy to do as there are six different locations in Yorkshire - including Northallerton (which is less than 3 miles from Wigwam Holidays Sedgewell Barn).
Wensleydale Railway

World of James Herriot is the writer's home, now a visitor attraction in Thirsk, North Yorkshire, England. The attraction covers the life and books of the 20th century veterinary surgeon and author James Herriot within the Yorkshire Dales.

Kiplin Hall is a Jacobean historic house at Kiplin near Northallerton and a Grade I listed building. It is not far from the River Swale in the Vale of Mowbray.

We provide a firepit with each cabin which can also be used as a BBQ facility for cooking food.
One fire bundle with everything you need to light the firepit/BBQ is also provided. A firewood bundles include matches, kindling, natural firelighters and Woodsure certified, kiln-dried timber from a sustainable source. We will leave inside your cabin in time for your arrival.
You are not permitted to bring your own timber to Wigwam Holidays Sedgewell Barn or remove firewood bundles from other cabins. One firewood bundle will last you one to two nights, depending on usage. While you're staying on site, if you need extra firewood bundles they can be ordered by telephone before 4pm that day which must be pre-paid for.
You are not permitted to use branches, debris, or other items you may see around the farmstead or cabins. All timber, the firepit and similar flammable materials are the property of the site owners. DO NOT use any flammable materials or liquids on your firepit, other than those supplied by us. Please be aware of the wind direction, ensuring the smoke doesn't affect or annoy other guests.
Please use your firepit/BBQ safely. Use of disposable BBQs is strictly forbidden.
- Integrated private shower room with toilet, wash hand basin, walk-in shower, towel rail radiator. (our new Wigwam Lodge cabin, has a wet room bathroom with accessible features). Towels can be hired for an additional charge.
- Kitchenette with sink, fridge, electric hob, kettle, toaster and microwave.
- Double bed and double sofa bed with a throw (our Wigwam Lodge Cabin also has an extra single bed).
- Bedding is provided for one double bed which includes one double sized duvet with cover, pillows with pillowcases and a fitted sheet. Extra bedding can be pre-ordered for an additional charge.
- Centrally located electric wall heater.
- Dining table and four chairs.
- TV (there is also a USB port if wish to bring a Firestick or Chromecast).
- Lockable French doors leading onto outdoor decking area with panoramic views over open countryside, picnic table & firebowl/BBQ.
- Well equipped kitchen mugs, dinner plates, side plates, cereal bowls, cutlery, wine glasses, plastic tumblers, pans, kitchen utensils, tea towel, liquid hand soap, washing up liquid, washing up bowl, J-cloth, chopping board, tin opener, ice cube tray, sweeping brush, dustpan and brush.
