Before your visit to Wigwam Holidays Sedgewell Barn please take the time to read the information below. It includes vital information regarding cancellation policies and services available which will assist you with planning your break.
Payment Policy
Your booking will be made in accordance with the Booking Terms and Conditions of Wigwam Holidays which are available to view on their website: https://www.wigwamholidays.com/website-terms-and-conditions
To secure your booking usually a deposit (or full payment if you wish) is required at the time of booking; we do not accept provisional bookings so please do not make a booking unless you are in the position to honour it. Once a deposit has been paid the remaining balance must be paid through BACs or debit or credit card at least 14 days before your stay.
The number of guests staying in each Wigwam Cabin must be confirmed at the time of booking. This number should not be exceeded unless by prior arrangement with the owner which, if permitted, will incur an additional fee.
Cancellation/No-Show Policy
A full refund up is available up until 5 days before arrival.
The above terms and conditions only apply to bookings that are made online at www.wigwamholidays.com. Bookings made directly with the site owner may be subject to individual and separately agreed terms.
If an online booking is made which is subsequently found not to be in accordance with these Site Terms and Conditions, then we may cancel the booking within 5 working days of it having been made. In the event of a cancellation by us for this reason, only 88% of the monies paid for the booking can be refunded. If you are in any doubt as to whether your booking meets our Site Terms and Conditions, then please give us a call on 01609 605605 BEFORE you book your stay.
Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend you take out an appropriate travel insurance policy to give peace of mind that your financial commitment is protected, should you be forced to cancel your holiday for any reason. We recommend that guests have an appropriate level of travel insurance in place for their needs.
GDPR and Confidential Information
Wigwam Holidays Sedgewell Barn will keep any confidential information or personal data supplied confidential and secret, and only use it for the purposes of supplying the goods and services, or for our legitimate business interests. We will share personal data only with our suppliers where it is necessary to deliver the goods and services contracted to be provided. Each party recognises and accepts its obligations with regard to the control and the processing of personal data under the current data protection legislation and regulations. Liability
Wigwam Holidays Sedgewell Barn holds appropriate insurance cover for the property and its use as a holiday site.
Wigwam Holidays Sedgewell Barn will use reasonable care and skill in delivering the services. Where there is any valid claim in respect of the services provided by Wigwam Holidays Sedgewell Barn you may be entitled to a refund of the price paid, or a portion of the price paid.
Wigwam Holidays Sedgewell Barn’s liability in respect of any loss of good will, loss of business, loss of profits, loss of anticipated savings, loss of use or for any other consequential, special or indirect loss or damage will be NIL.
Nothing in these terms will exclude or limit liability for death or serious injury caused by Wigwam Holidays Sedgewell Barn’s negligence.
If Wigwam Holidays Sedgewell Barn are limited or hindered from providing any facility, booked by you due to circumstances beyond its control eg: Government intervention, Acts of God, civil disturbance, war, national or local disaster, strikes, labour disputes, then the liability of Wigwam Holidays Sedgewell Barn to you shall not exceed the amount paid by you to Wigwam Holidays Sedgewell Barn in respect of the booking. The deposit paid shall usually not be refundable (being an approximation of the value of goods or services already rendered) and (where the value of the goods or services already delivered to you is greater than the value of the deposit) we shall be entitled to be paid additionally for all goods and services delivered to you up to that point. Wigwam Holidays Sedgewell Barn will not be liable for any additional losses whatsoever suffered by you as a result of such circumstances.
Any of your own equipment and property, including vehicles, brought onto the site is at your own risk and Wigwam Holidays Sedgewell Barn accepts no liability for loss or damage.
These terms and any dispute arising from them shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Glamping Site Rules
The owners of the site reserve the right to ask guests not observing these Glamping Site Terms and Conditions to leave the site without refunds and with immediate effect. We do not accept bookings from unaccompanied adults aged 18 or under. For the comfort of all guests, we are a low noise policy site.
Low Noise Policy
Here at Wigwam Holidays Sedgewell Barn we are located in an idyllic, rural location. We expect all guests to respect other guests and local residents during their stay and as such, we have a Low Noise Policy. This entails no music, loud talking, singing or shouting between the hours of 9pm and 8am so that all our guests can have a restful, peaceful stay. Excessive noise will not be tolerated and we operate a zero tolerance towards loud and rowdy gatherings. We will monitor the glamping site after 9pm and if this Low Noise Policy is not adhered to then guests may be asked to leave the site.
Arrival/Departure Procedures
Generally (unless otherwise specified), check-in time is from 2.30pm and check out is by 10am prompt on the day of departure. However, it may be possible to amend these times subject to availability and prior arrangements being made. These alternative arrangements may also incur a surcharge. Further details on check-in will be provided by e-mail shortly before the arrival date.
Whilst we do employ cleaners, guests are expected to leave their Wigwam Cabin in a neat and tidy condition with all refuse deposited in the designated Refuse Collection Point. A map showing the location of this can be found in your Wigwam Cabin. No food must be left in the fridge upon departure.
The glamping cabins and associated facilities are booked for guests’ use only. No third parties are permitted to use them unless prior consent has been given in writing by Wigwam Holidays Sedgewell Barn. There may be an additional charge for this usage.
Waste & Refuse
Wipes, sanitary waste, nappies, cloths etc. must not be flushed down the toilets. These items must be wrapped and put in the bin provided.
Group Bookings
We do accept group bookings, however we are unable to accept group bookings if you are aged between 18 years and 21 years. If you are in any doubt as to whether your booking meets our Site Terms and Conditions then please give us a call on 01609 605605.
At the site owner’s discretion, we may take a damage deposit for group bookings that is refundable once the cabins have been checked and all is in order. If there is any damage to our cabins or any of our property, the deposit will be retained up to the amount required to cover the cost of the damage.
We reserve the right to ask for further details about a group booking (ie age ranges, purposes of the booking and other related information) in order to ensure our Terms and Conditions are adhered to.
Breakage/Damage
We reserve the right to charge guests should the Wigwam Cabin be left in an unsatisfactory condition or if there is any damage or breakages to the cabin itself or the furniture, furnishings or other items provided. We appreciate that minor damage and breakages can occur and that in most cases these will not be charged for. However, it is requested that guests advise us in the event of any breakage or damage which has occurred so that we can replace or repair the item/s before the next guests arrive.
Guests are not permitted to remove any of the Wigwam Cabins furniture, furnishings or other items provided, as listed on the inventory inside the Welcome Folder.
Wigwam Cabin Repairs
Please let us know if any repairs are required to your Wigwam Cabin during your stay. The owners reserve the right to enter your Wigwam Cabin for service or repair purposes.
Debit/Credit Card Facility
We have a credit/debit card facility available to use when booking and for on-site for purchases over a certain amount.
Smoking and Vaping
Smoking and vaping is not permitted inside any of the Wigwam Cabins. Guests are permitted to smoke or vape in their own designated outdoor patio area as long as it does not interfere with the enjoyment of other guests on the site and that cigarette butts and ash are disposed of responsibly.
Barbeque/Fire Pit
You are not permitted to bring your own timber, only timber supplied by us can be used for the barbeque/firepit provided. You are not permitted to use branches, debris or other items you may see around the farmstead. All timber and similar flammable materials are the property of the owners.
You are not permitted to use any other flammable materials or liquids other than those supplied by us.
Please be aware of wind direction to ensure smoke does not become an annoyance to other guests and please use your barbeque/firepit safely.
You are not permitted to move the barbeque/firepit.
The use of disposable barbeques is strictly prohibited.
Safe Driving
The speed limit is 5mph around the site to protect children and animals that may be sharing the Wigwam Holidays Sedgewell Barn site with you. We also expect all guests to respect our neighbours and there is a 10mph speed limit on the access track which leads to our site. Please note this access track is also a public footpath where slow, careful driving is of utmost importance.
Parking
There is one parking space provided with each Wigwam Cabin. Additional parking spaces are available on site.
Hot tubs
All of our Wigwam Cabins include electric hot tubs.
The hot tubs are booked for guests’ use only. No third parties are permitted to use them.
Please note that if you are booking cabins with hot tubs, they have a maximum capacity which must not be exceeded. Again, you should ensure that on booking you are clear about the capacity for the cabin you book. For guests’ own safety we stipulate that no more than the stated capacity can use a hot tub at any given time.
The hot tub instructions can be found in our online Touchstay Guidebook and also on a notice next to each hot tub. Please note, accepted hot tub chemicals will be used when cleaning and maintaining the hot tubs.
Any breakages or faults MUST BE REPORTED immediately and in some instances may incur a cost to you for the replacement value of the item broken or damaged.
Please use plastic glasses only as any broken glass will damage the hot tub. Please do not place any other items in the hot tub which may damage the hot tub or filters such as floating wax candles.
No dogs are allowed in the hot tub!
Swimwear must be worn at all times.
Please note we will endeavour to make sure your hot tub is up to temperature when you arrive however we can make no guarantee regarding this. Please also note we may need to start draining your hot tub from 7.30am on the morning of your departure.
Dogs
Up to two well behaved dogs are welcome in each cabin with prior notice but must be kept on a lead at all times. There is an additional charge for dogs and owners are expected to clean up behind their dogs and place dog foul in a sealed bag in the bins provided. Dogs are not to be left unattended at any time.
If your dog/s leaves the cabin excessively dirty or muddy you may be charged for additional cleaning.
Play Area
Parents are responsible for their children and they must be supervised at all times. Please tidy up all your litter and place in the bins in the Refuse Collection Area next to the play area.
Although we are a dog friendly site, we kindly ask that you do not take your dogs into the play area.
Temporary Structures
No temporary structures such as gazebos, belle tents or tents are permitted unless prior consent has been given in writing by Wigwam Holidays Sedgewell Barn.
Farm Safety and Supervision Of Children
Comprehensive risk assessments have been completed, however please be aware of the risks associated with the site.
You should ensure that guests keep to the designated footpaths within the fields and grounds. There are animals in some fields, so please respect the livestock. Litter of any description is dangerous to animals and anyone maltreating the livestock will be asked to leave the site immediately.
General warning notices are in place and failure to comply with these warnings will be at your own risk and we will not be held responsible.
Areas marked PRIVATE are marked as such for a good reason – please respect these notices. Parts of the site are a private dwelling house and gardens and must be out of bounds to guests at all times.
Please ensure you or your children do not use the farm buildings as play areas and do not climb on any farm machinery. Parents are responsible for their children and they must be supervised at all times.
Guests are not permitted to feed any farm animals. If any guests come into contact with farm animals, please ensure they wash their hands thoroughly.

A list of emergency numbers is available in our online guidebook Touchstay. The onsite emergency number is 01609 605605 pressing option ‘9’. This is also written in the Welcome Letter in each Wigwam Cabin.
Lost Property
Items must be claimed within two weeks of departure. Where relevant, postage and packaging charges will apply for the return of goods.
Disability Access
Our Wigwam Lodge Cabins is suitable for wheelchair access, please contact us for more details.
Complaints Procedure
We take all comments from guests very seriously and in the unlikely event you wish to make a complaint you may contact the Owner directly either by telephone or email and we will attempt to resolve any issues as soon as possible.
Behaviour
Anti-social behaviour such as bad language, aggression, destruction to property, harassment of other guests or any illegal activities carried out on the site will not be tolerated. We expect all our visitors to respect and look after the site and the Wigwam Cabin you are staying in. If any guests do not adhere to this request, they will be asked to leave the site without any refunds.
Electric Cars
Please do not charge your car onsite. There are car charging facilities locally in Northallerton, Bedale and Thirsk
Fireworks, Chinese Lanterns, Balloons and Drones
Fireworks, Chinese lanterns, confetti balloons, helium balloons, water balloons and drones are strictly prohibited.
