Your little minnows can try out fishing on the fun fishing pond or spend time pond dipping in our beck. We have giant chess and connect 4 for the competitive ones among you, and fly fishing for the more experienced angler.

Enjoy an adventure-filled woodland walk in Gelt Woods. Being an RSVP Nature reserve, it holds some lovely surprises, to name a few: Bird spotting, Mini beast hunts, beautiful caves and hidden Roman etchings. There are lots of picnic places and Gelt woods provides the perfect location for four-legged adventures.
Birdoswald Roman Fort / Hadrian’s Wall
A fascinating window into England’s Roman history Birdoswald Roman Fort gives you a real insight into Hadrian’s Wall, with a periscope offering a view of the wall as far as you can see. The visitor centre plays host to an exhibition and you can learn how the wall was constructed and explore Roman artefacts.
